Gender Budgeting Cells set up in 56 Ministries/Departments

The system of Gender Budgeting has been put in place by the Government. The Ministry of Finance has issued directives to all Central Ministries / Departments to set up Gender Budgeting Cells. So far 56 Ministries / Departments have set up Gender Budgeting Cells.

Moreover, there is an increase in allocations for women as reported in the Gender Budget Statement. Allocations reflected in the Gender Budget Statement in the last three years are as follows:
