25-April-2012,An Independent Accident Investigation Committee was formed under Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India through a notification on 26.05.2011.
Notification on the draft Rules framed for Air Accident Investigation Bureau has been sent for publication in the Gazette of India for inviting the comments of public/stakeholders. The same has also been put up on the website of the Ministry.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation maintains a database on Accidents, Serious Incidents and Incidents involving aircraft in the country.
This information was given by the Minister of Civil Aviation Shri Ajit Singh in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.
